Am I at Risk?

The Scots and those from the north of England have one of the greatest risks in the world of dying young from a heart attack, stroke or disease of the arteries affecting circulation, especially in the legs.

There is now a great deal of knowledge about the causes of cardiovascular disease which we usually call risk factors.

We list these below for you but if you click on the risk factors on the prevention page you can learn more.

Risk Factors

Smoking

Having High blood pressure

An unhealthy diet

Not taking enough exercise

Stress

All of these are especially important if your parents died young of a heart attack or stroke.

Your primary care team can help you now.
